Awesome Games Done Quick Raises $1.5M For Cancer Research

Posted on by HB Duran

Thanks to generous support and time (160 hours!) from gamers across the country, Awesome Games Done Quick 2015 raised an impressive $1,575,000.

Games Done Quick is a bi-annual speed run marathon to benefit charity organizations. Players live stream their games on Twitch and encourage viewers to donate to a worthy cause. This year, the winter marathon benefited Prevent Cancer Foundation; an organization that supports research and offers outreach to communities across the world.

From January 4-10, 2015, gamer volunteers took up their controllers and organized their own events to raise funds for this worthy cause. You can watch some of the playthroughs on the Games Done Quick YouTube Channel.
