“Where Theme Park Meets Dream Park.”
Atari certainly has hit some bumps recently with the poorly received RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile, and now with a less than stunning gameplay reveal of the upcoming RollerCoaster Tycoon World. No doubt gamers are worried this is a case of a developer promising more than will be delivered. There’s always the possibility that the minimal gameplay shown will be improved before release, but with an “Early 2015” estimate, the clock is ticking.
The game page recently popped up on Steam, boasting new features such as “an intuitive 3D track builder, deformable terrain, realistic coaster physics, and the ability to share your park creations.” For the first time players will be able to team up with others to form a theme park company and compete worldwide for coaster dominance. You’ll even be able to visit your friends’ theme parks and trade coaster designs. Sounds exciting for any RollerCoaster Tycoon fan, but players are understandably hesitant about RollerCoaster Tycoon World.
RollerCoaster Tycoon and RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 are beloved classics that will hold every game after to an incredibly high standard. From the comments on the new gameplay teaser, gamers appear to be falling on the negative side.
This gamer in particular has been keeping a close eye on the development of RollerCoaster Tycoon World; breaking out the second game in the series on a regular basis. Stay tuned here for more updates or check out the RollerCoaster Tycoon Official Website for the latest.
