Horse experts Star Stable Entertainment have been dropping hints for weeks now about a brand new in-game area they’ve created for players to explore. Finally, the team has announced that this area of Star Stable Online will open on Wednesday, November 18th and players are overly anxious to get inside.
Star Stable takes place on the imaginary island of Jorvik, a massive open world map that players can explore with their trusty horse companions. One particular area, the South Harvest Counties, has been visible as only a clouded section on the game’s map – until now. Officially dubbed “Epona” after the Roman Goddess who protects all horses, the new location boasts a number of smaller villages and factions for players to get to know.
The town of New Hillcrest sports a suburban town feel, one that we haven’t seen in Jorvik before, with paved streets and a middle-class style neighborhood. The Mirror Marshes give off an eerie feeling; who knows what will be waiting for riders in the swamp! Crescent Moon Village and Fort Maria have also been mentioned but less is known about what these spots hold besides all new characters for players to meet.
More information has also been released about the leading mechanic coming soon to Star Stable. Players will be able to hold onto their horse’s bridle and gently guide their companion while walking along beside them. The leading feature has been the most requested addition to the game and fans are beyond thrilled to finally see it in action. There has so far been no mention of when we’ll see leading actually added to the game, but as more details emerge we can’t help but think it will be soon!
Star Stable is free to play up to the first five levels and although you can continue to play once you hit level 5, paying members receive huge benefits, including jumping and access to the entire map of Jorvik!
