DreamHack Winter 2015 began today, November 26, 2015 in Jonkoping, Sweden; this event is one of the largest winter gaming events in Europe and one of the largest LAN events in the world. The high level competitors have arrived to Sweden to compete for numerous prizes in some of the fiercest competitive games in the world, like Heroes of the Storm, Counter Strike and more will be featured at this cannot miss event.
The SteelSeries #showyourcolors winner was Julia_bish, and she won after using the hashtag #showyourcolors on Instagram and displayed what made her unique as a gamer. The winning entry highlighted the unique quality that Julia_bish has as a girl that plays competitive games, that are usually dominated by males but she feels that her gender does not define her but instead her love for eSports is what keeps her unique. Julia_bish won the trip to DreamHack Winter in Sweden by displaying her passion for gaming and she can now enjoy her love of eSports when her and a friend or family member travel and experience one of the coolest gaming events in Europe, expenses paid courtesy of SteelSeries.
DreamHack Winter will feature the Grand Prix for Heroes of the Storm and competitions in games like Hearthstone, Counter Strike: Global Offense, StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void, Dota 2, SuperSmash Bros. Melee and many others. Highlights will include the European booths of many popular gaming companies and their sponsors, companies like Intel and NordicHardware. Those comapnsie and more will have booths and display their gaming items to fans who visit. Blizzard in celebration of the event are giving incentive to tune into the Heroes of the Storm finals on November 27th, 2015. The incentive is mainly for those who have not unlocked the new character in the newest patch Cho’Gall and to obtain Cho’Gall for free you just need to link your Twitch account with your Battle.net account and he will automatically show up ready in the Nexus to battle. The viewers of the Heroes of the Storm finals can also stay up on the latest events on social media by using the hashtag #DreamhackPlaysHeroes and share their commentary or pictures of the event.
Aother notable event is the CEO and chief gamer of Razer, Min-Liang Tan, will be giving a keynote speech where he will be surprising the crowd with some news of his own and can be watched on Razers’ Twitch channel Friday, November 27th.
DreamHack Winter has many events and most are being streamed on various competitors and companies Twitch pages, so much of the activities can be watched throughout those streams of content. There is no excuse to miss out on many of the fun events happening at DreamHack Winter 2015.
