Meet Agent Ray in This New Ron Gilbert’s Thimbleweed Park Trailer

Posted on by HB Duran

Thimbleweed Park, a new point-and-click adventure by Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick, is headed to a plethora of platforms later this year. Successfully funded in 2014 on Kickstarter, the two creators behind Monkey Island are developing and publishing this murder-mystery title under the company, Terrible Toybox out of Seattle.

Lots to do with this “bloated, pixelated corpse.”

Terrible Toybox describes Thimbleweed Park as “an irreverent homage to True Detective, Twin Peaks, and The X-Files (with a little Stephen King tossed in for kicks). An adventure that takes you back to a simpler time, when puzzles were puzzles and story ruled.”

In this new trailer, we meet our protagonist, Agent Ray. In the tradition of film noir, she is in no mood for nonsense, and has a lot to say about it:

The game features five playable characters and a number of areas to explore, but it will not have “dead ends and stupid puzzles,” according to the developers.

Thimbleweed Park is scheduled for launch in late 2016 for Mac, Windows, Linux, XBox, iOS, Android and (they hope) more platforms in the future. For more information, you can visit the official website! If you’re headed to GDC this year, Ron Gilbert and the team will be on-hand for demos.
