First Impressions of Paragon (Early Access):

This multiplayer game is seriously HUGE.  It features a sprawling and beautiful environment with endless possibilities.

So far, in my first experiences with Early Access Paragon for PC and Playstation 4;  I think it’s really living up to its hype.  Be prepared to get addicted to this game – you have been warned!  Having never really dabbled in this genre before, I wasn’t sure what to expect.  After dying (a lot) I started to get the hang of it.  It is now my personal quest to become really good at this game.

There are 14 playable heroes, presently.  They are broken up into sub-categories of Casters, Fighters, Tanks, Rangers, and an Assassin.

The Casters are:

  • Howitzer
  • Gadget
  • Dekker
  • Gideon
  • Muriel

The Fighters:

  • Feng Mao

  • Grux

The Tanks:

The Rangers:

The lone Assassin:

A new character(s?) is also slated to be released in the next three weeks, as promised by Epic Games:  Iggy and Scorch.  I wonder if anymore assassins will be added to keep Kallari company?

Each character has very distinctive skill-sets and contributes to gameplay very uniquely. Pair this fact with the unpredictability of having multi-players from around the world, and you get a completely different experience every time you fire up the game.  I’ve really been enjoying playing Muriel, the caster.  Her role is interesting because she is a protector of sorts.  She can sway battle by swooping in and rescuing minions and other players in need.  I’m also really getting into playing Sevarog, the newest addition to this rag-tag team.  With his melee attack strategy, his nickname isn’t the “soul-eater” for nothin.’
